Rusticated finish, so there are strategic rough patches on the briar bowl. This process involves blasting the bowl with sand, which produces this stunning rustication which simply reveals what the structure of the briar is like under the surface. Again, a tremendous grain on the briar root. You will notice that the grain of the briar is almost vertical up the sides of the bowl. This is an indication of supreme quality of the briar. You will also note, that the top surface of the pipe, at the bowl surface, has been left unfinished, apart from polishing of course; the effect is stunning, as you can see the full beauty of the top surface of the briar root.
